Wow. Great question! My first reaction was, "No! I would tell the cops immediately." But then I thought about the guy I'm with now, and if he told me something incriminating about himself...it might not be so easy for me to turn him in, I'm selfish. >.< I don't know though! I'd rather he just not tell me!

I've been snooping around two or three crime websites today and the buzz is that a major break in the case is getting ready to be exposed. Anyone hear anything?

Some think new evidence will emerge. Others think that a family member or someone close to the case will break out with new info. Hmmmm, I've always thought JB's pediatrician knows a helluva lot about this. I wish someone would step up, everytime I read a sentence or two about the case I get sucked back into it.

I can't stand the old witch either, Mammy. Does anyone know why Montel Williams seemed to put so much stock in this old coont? He was such a likable guy until he started having her on, treating her like she was some kind of mystic wonder... made me lose all respect for him. I'm guessing she must've told him something that turned out to be true, like the broken clock that's right twice a day. But I'd sure like to know the specifics.

On the topic of "If someone you're in love with told you they'd covered up a murder like this one, would you tell?" I originally thought I would absolutely tell. But you know, I don't think I would. If they'd murdered someone and there was a family out there who needed closure, I would. But if they'd covered up a crime for someone they loved (especially if that someone was now dead)? I just don't think so. Not a soul would be better off if I did, and I would lose the love of my life. For what, to satisfy the curiosity of the public? No, I don't think so. Not saying I'd be right, but just being honest.

I, too, think it was someone outside of the family. It could've been someone who's eye she caught doing a pageant, as someone suggested. But JonBenet did less than 10 pageants in her life (I think that's right) -- it wasn't like she was doing them since she was an infant or toddler (like some of the dumbasses on T&T). Although it would only take one, I think it could've been someone else just as easily. The jealous parents of another child maybe, or someone jealous of Patsy.

I think LE used tunnel vision in their screwed up investigation and because of that we will never know who's responsible for her death. A deathbed confession, I think, is the best we can hope for.

I never understood why Montel Williams couldn't see right through that evil old beast. I'm sure she made it worth his time to put her on there. I've never known her to be right on any case. The three that come to mind that were the furthest from the truth were Shawn Hornbeck, Opal Jennings, and the trapped miners who she claimed would all be rescued alive. Shawn isn't dead, Opal Jennings is dead and wasn't sold into sexual slavery, and only one of the trapped miners made it out alive. She's horrible.

Somebody stop me.....ARGGHHHH! I've been reading over at websleuths the past few days. Interesting thread about poster's theories on who killed her.

A new thing I did read is that some think Patsy's dad Don Paugh sexually abused not only Patsy but also JB. I dont recall hearing about this theory. I dont believe it was mentioned in the Steve Thomas book. Some people think Patsy might have snapped at discovering her dad had (once again?) abused JB. He left CO on the 24th and flew standby back to Atlanta.

Per Patsy, Burke used to whittle all the time with a red scout knife. He wouldnt use a bag or anything to catch the droppings, he just let it fall on the floor or whatever. Someone asked Patsy about it and she said the only way to stop him was to take the knife away, which she did after Thanksgiving. Pats said she hid the knife in a cupboard just outside JB's room.

Apparently this knife was found a few yards from JB's body. Two weeks later, Burke shocked a police shrink by shouting "I know what happened. She was killed. Someone took her quitely and took her down in the basement...took a knife out...hit her on the head..." At that point, only the police knew about the knife being found close to the body.

I cant believe I never heard about this before, I dont recall it being mentioned in the Thomas book I read. I remember the Thomas book saying Burke told a police shrink he heard his mom say something like OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH in the middle of the night. But this is the first I've heard of the knife. First they called it a scout knife, then referred to it as a Swiss Army knife.

Thanks for the answer, Djen. She was closer in age to his older children than him. She was a trophy wife and he was an established business man with plenty of money. I guess he was 49 when JonBenet was born? I wonder how he met Patsy and if he was still married to his first wife at the time? I don't know much about that part of their background.

Thanks for the info about the knives. I have been reading over at websleuths and let me just say some of the folks over there really know their Ramsey stuff. I have learned tons reading there. For example, I had no clue that Cyril Wecht has a theory about the death being a sex-game-gone-wrong thing. That the strangulation went too far by accident. Something like that never entered my mind.

I was also looking thru pics various pics from the crime scene and of the family. I found one of Patsy at JB's grave. It looked staged to me. She was down on one knee and had her arms crossed and her hands up near her neck. It was almost like she was going to strangle herself. I know it could be seen as a tender moment but it just seemed odd to me given what I know about the case. Lemme see if I can find it...

Apparently John Ramsey will not consent to have his daughter exumed to check on the marks alleged to be (or not be, lol) a stun gun or taser. I think we talked about that earlier in this thread. I saw a pic of someone with a known stun gun mark and it looked very close to what JB had on her body. Not sure of the timeframe here though when this was a hot topic. I read where John said he would never disturb JB.

I suppose on the one hand I could understand that. But if it would help find the killer(s) of your daughter? I think from moment one, when John was on the phone on Dec 26 with his pilot trying to get out of CO till years later, John wants this talk over and done with. Wonder how his new book sales are goin?

Isnt it amazing all the stuff that was never really put out there for public consumption? I am still trying to wrap my head around John playing a sex game gone wrong with JB and accidently killing her. I still think JB had an accident shortly after they got home. Pats was still up packing and what-not and the situation escalated. I always thought Pats did it accidently out of anger over a lot of things, then covered it up. Lots of other theories out there tho!

I'm wondering if its just not some stupid hype. John's new book came out not too long ago but other than that, not too much going on with the case. I still want to know what JB's pediatrician Dr Beuf knows. IIRC, JB saw him 33 times in the last three years of her life. I bet the guy knows tons!

I feel the same way, Djen. Who took the picture? If a total stranger took it, wouldn't she and anyone with her there be offended by having their privacy invaded? It would also be a strange thing for a family member or friend to take the picture. What family member can see someone in the depths of grief and despair (supposedly) and think, "ooh, I'm gonna grab a camera and take a picture to remember this moment?" Someone took the picture and it's a weird thing to do no matter who did it.

I'm convinced Jon Benet is alive and well and living as a showgirl in Vegas. Everytime I go there, I see some baby faced stripper on the side of a taxi and I swear to gawd, it looks just like Jon Benet.

I was in Pasadena one day and they had some exhibit at a local museum of child pageant photos. One girl looked eerily like Jon Benet. There was a fabric banner advertising the exhibit on a lamp post on the street. I was convinced it was her photo. It somehow made it's way into my trunk and followed me home. Sadly, when I got home and looked up the exhibit on the net, it wasn't her but some other overly sexed up tot with horrible parents pimping out their kid. :-(

Am I the only person that was mildly uncomfortable and found it odd when Jon Benet's Daddy was dating Natalie Holloway's Mommy???? It just seemed like it was one big grief orgy for people into that sort of thing. (Edit: Just read more into the thread and saw others found it creepy too. LOL)

As for who did it..... I'm not pointing fingers, but if I were they'd all be pointed at little Burke. The parents knew damn well what went on that night and covered it up. They'd already lost one kid, they weren't going to lose two. Time will tell, but I won't be shocked when that kid ends up more f*cked up than anybody and racked with horrible guilt for killing his sister. At some point in his late 20s/early 30s, he'll lose it... become completely unraveled and either kill again or find himself in some big time hot water. Nobody will be there to save his ass this time though.

I have no clue what the professionals said in regards to that ransom note, but it's obviously written by a female. You can tell by the way some of the letters are written and no man would be using exclamation points like those are.

We all know which female wrote the note. She is now conveniently dead and unable to be prosecuted, not that she ever would have been anyway. It's amazing what people with money can buy their way out of. The Ramseys were never even treated like suspects when all suspicious things pointed directly to one or both of them. An average, everyday couple would have been detained from the start instead of the cops kissing their asses like they were celebs. I don't know if I commented on it before and I'm too lazy to go back and look, but I thought it was damned creepy when John Ramsey and Beth Twitty were dating. It seemed like attention whore behavior to me.
