Awww, great pic!! This was one of my favorite movies. I'd read some accounts of the "real" story. It sounds like they all had rather rough lives that ended tragically. I always felt like they loved each other fiercely.
One of my favorite movies, I still lose it at the end. They changed the soundtrack from Seger to Springsteen in the directors cut.Thanks for posting that pic, had never seen it before!

One of my favorite movies of all time. I always cry. Rusty had to be a very strong woman. I can relate to her. I had a child who had a cranio-facial disorder, and I was very very protective of him. She only wanted him to have a normal life. A mother's love knows no bounds or obstacles. May she and her son rest in and peace.
I watched Mask not too long ago and became a little obsessed about Rocky's story.
He made the most out of the deck of cards he was dealt. That's for sure.
Giving the props to my favorite soap couple ever...Kevin Collins and Lucy Coe. If anyone watched GH back in the good old days and loved these two. They're back!!!

I would really like to see a book or DVD documentary released about the real Rocky Dennis. I am hoping it will happen one day. I'm surprised it hasn't been done already to be honest. There aren't nearly enough pictures of the real Rocky Dennis online IMO, but hopefully that will change one day. He must have been photographed numerous times by doctors and specialists over the course of his life. Those kind of photos would've almost certainly have been used for the making of the movie Mask. Eric Stoltz looked just like the real life person in that movie. The only difference was that the real Rocky Dennis' eyes were set further apart. Everything else was spot on.

What an amazing album!!! I loved seeing all the pics I'd never seen and those I'd seen previously. I just wonder how "Mask" was as a musical. Has anybody seen it?

Yes..TY TY TY for the album. I hadnt seen most of those photos either, and reading the article in People was great. The movie has always been my favorite movie. I have the director's cut on dvd, But sadly I cant watch it much. I cry for hours after watching it, and can never watch when he dies. When Cher tells him to take care of his headache on his own, i stop the dvd, or change the channel if Im watching it. I saw it when it first came out in the theaters. I cried all the way home. This movie made me a huge fan of Chers too. She did a great job playing Rusty. Just talking about it im getting misty eyed. Other then the drugs, rusty did a great job raising him. She made him believe and know that just cause he was different physically, he wasnt any different mentally. His personality, and her way with him made him beautiful. And he lived his life the way he wanted without this holding him back. That to me, is definite strength.
Rocky and Rusty were an awesome team. I truly believe that's why he lived longer than he was supposed to - Rusty was the perfect mother for him.

Here is what I could find about Rocky's older brother (6 years older), Joshua Mason from Find a Grave. He did die of AIDS, in a hospice. Both tragic deaths, damn shame. Now their Mama has joined them. This lady died at 70 years old from an infection as a result of a motorcycle crash. Riding a hog at 70, I would've loved to have met this lady, she sounds like one ballsy woman. Love strong women. I hope they're all at peace now, riding Harleys in heaven!!!!
