But what about the joy of using the book as a coaster, or to prop open a window or tearing out a page or two to wrap up some chewed gum? Can't do that with a library book! (Mostly).

    Now stop teasing the librarian.

Though I must admit that I'm the kind of person who has some books that I've literally destroyed by repeated readings - split spines, folded corners, highlighted text, notes in the margins... I can't bear to throw them away. They are like a favorite sweatshirt or jeans.

The printed word will always be around.

    I wasn't teasing!

You were so right about the books. I had one that I kept for years...cover came off, pages fell out. Sigh.

Here is Brad modeling the latest in 80's fashion. When it's cold out, always remember to put on a jacket!

I had a book that I first read in collage and read every single year there after for 12 years. I destroyed it. Just bought another copy last week and will comence it's destruction soon.

In 1981 he appeared alongside gay actor Ian Charleson in the film Chariots of Fire. Ten years later they both died, and were both ill with AIDS.

I got the book as well. His wife admitted in the book that when he first started out in New York, he was a hustler to both men and women.

He had gay friends. It's interesting that one of his friends said in an article, that just because you may have had a few encounters with men that does not make you gay. Food for thought. I tend to agree.

And yes, according to his wife, Brad admitted that he was sexually abused by his mother until he was sixteen. And he was the one who said, enough already.

Brad's favorite role, as Robert Kennedy in the TV mini series "Robert Kennedy & His Times". River Phoenix played a younger Robert Kennedy.

Thanks Tim! This is another pic from the movie "Plot to kill Hitler" done prior to Tom Cruise's movie 'Valkyrie'. Remember the hubbub on that one?
