For any of you readers now going through Walking Dead withdrawal (and you have read the comics and World War Z), I'd like to suggest Day by Day Armageddon and Day by Day Armageddon Beyond Exile by J.L. Bourne. It's hard finding zombie books that stand out and those are two of them. I believe it's going to be part of a series so you would want to read DDA first and DDABE second.

Another set of books that I heartily recommend are Plague of the Dead: The Morningstar Strain and Thunder and Ashes (The Morningstar Strain) by Z.A. Recht. These are also part of a trilogy but Z.A. Recht passed away last December 2009 at the very young age of 26. Thankfully, his parents passed all of his notes and writings on book three to his publishers and a ghostwriter has apparently completed the book.

I'm going to start another book called Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry. I hope it's good, I tried Dead City by Joe McKinney and I wasn't really taken with it.

I'm sorry, it was a perfect cliff hanger. Hopefully You can catch it on the internet somewhere. I'm going through withdrawls here, even got my wife to watch them and she's no fan of zombie movies.

I LOVE scary movies. It's all I ever watch anymore. Yay for Walking Dead return! I need to re-watch season 1 first though.

lol Of all the bloody things going on in this episode, that's the scene I flinched the most! I changed the channel but turned back quickly to see what happened.

Definitely left us with some hairy cliffhangers on several different fronts. Love it.

I was ready for the zombies to start moaning a hymn or something. That would have been freaky.

I did the same thing. You can kill all the humans you want, but when you touch an animal, I can't stand it. I was SO hoping we'd get to see our first deer-zombie, and he'd attack.

I know! It's always the animals that get me emotional. The eerie but serene moment while they were looking at the deer was so suspenseful! I kept thinking maybe a zombie was going to pop out or something. A deer-zombie would've made me poop my pants! lol

Yeah it was a little slow and seemed to be lower budget that what we're used to. I think the season 1 finale at the CDC was their biggest production. Anyway, wife bought me the walking dead licenced make up kit for when I go trick or treating with my son--cant wait.

I agree. I missed the zombie killing. In the after show, they showed a little more of what was going to happen in the next episode. I hope Carl makes it. I can't wait 'til we see how Shane gets out of that huge zombie mess.

The shows turning sappy. I'm disappointed with it. Unless more people get eaten, I'm switching back to adult swiim on Sunday nights. I watch the show for the zombies , which is lacking in the past two episodes. Ill give it one more week to pick back up.

I think next week's episode will have a lot of zombies. Finally, some killing again! Shane and that other guy are stuck in the high school with the swarm of zombies. That should be interesting!

I had to skip a lot of the threads because I am only getting around to watching the season premeire right now. This show still has me on the edge of my seat, like last season.

And to those who change the channel when it gets real scary, I am one of you too. Right now I'm fast fowarding through the really scary parts.

I was really disappointed with this week's episode. I have to admit, I was actually bored to tears and picked up a magazine to look at. Hopefully, some more zombies will show up in next week's episode.

I too was disappointed in this week's episode. I was so bored I had to find something more interesting to do while watching it.

They need to focus on Darrell, Glen and Dale more. Those 3 are the interesting characters IMO.
Especially Darrell they are highly under using him as a character.

I agree. I thought I was going to hate Daryl, but I think he's so bad ass now! It was hilarious when he told the zombie to shut up and shot him in the head. I just hope he doesn't become a douchebag if/when his brother reappears. And Glenn! My fellow Korean! haha I hope he stays alive. He brings much needed comic relief.

Shane is certainly willing to do what he has to do. I had a feeling it was going to end the way it did.

They really water this down with drama. This was better then last weeks but it still lacks.it gets Two out of five stars. Finally zombiies get to eat. I was going to give up on it if it didn't get somehow better

Sorry for the dumb question but I'm curious, don't zombies need to eat flesh to stay "alive" and if so how are they surviving with most people dead? What happens when there is nothing to eat?

I think you're thinking of the people infected by the rage virus in 28 days/weeks later. Those people eventually starved to death. Zombies stay "alive" but they'll be slower than ones who've fed more recently. Some zombies have fed on animals on the show. The only way they can die is if you destroy their brain.

So, who is everyone's favorite character? I'm growing more fond of the Red Neck with the arrows (can't think of his name). He's definately become cooler this season. The angry Blond Barfly had gotten old. I'm tired of her attitude.

I am a bit suspicious of the Vet/Surgeon/Country Dr. though. That actor always plays bad guys in movies and on tv shows (remember he played casino owner Sam on CSI?) so I'm just waiting for something bad to happen with him.

haha His name is Daryl. He does have a sweet side! I don't know if I have a favorite character. I wouldn't really care if Sophia's mom died. lol That sounds so heartless. In next episode's preview the doctor says something about how they don't take in strangers and that after they find the little girl, that they should be on their way. Seems kind of mean. I don't think he'll do anything bad. I just think he'd rather have a small group so their resources don't dwindle quickly.

Yeah Andrea is really making wish she would just bite it. Although the developments with her and Daryl in last night's episode were interesting. I was mad when she wouldn't forgive Dale, though, when he gave the gun back. Rick and Lori are kind of boring to me so far this season, though the questions raised last night about letting Carl live were interesting. I think so far I was blown away by Shane and I think his character just upped the ante (so to speak). At first I was like "What an ASSHOLE", but the more I think I about it, I wonder if he had any other choice? Would Otis have made it alone? It was more than just Shane's life on the line...

I agree, Sophie's mother is pretty useless and so whiney!! I like Glen, he's a cutie. Hope nothing happens to him. That's the thing that gets me about this show, you never know who might survive or who is going to end up as a Zombie Buffet.

Glenn's great. He's funny and he lightens up the show. The next episode, he gets lowered into a well where there's a zombie. You can see it splashing around, so I don't know why they're letting him go down there. Well the thing that's holding the rope almost breaks off and he falls closer to the zombie. I hope he doesn't die! I like Glenn!

Thanks Morbid, I thought that applied to all zombies. I loved the zombie who hung himself and had his legs chewed to the bone.
