I would freeze to death!
I don't know if anybody had the chance to watch this but it was about a group of guys from Oregon who were on the balls of their ass, no jobs, forclosures etc and these guys leased some property in Porcupine Creek Alaska and they wanted to strike it rich.
Because they really didn't know everything what to do they lost alot of money doing it.
They had the adventure of a lifetime and they're going to do it next year in a different location with a little more knowledge.
Would you do that. Look into a tunnel, you see a light in the tunnel and it's a train.
Personally I would go in a heartbeat. My life stinks worse than the interior part of New Jersey so Hell book my seat, build me a tent and gimme a pan I'm here for the gold baby.

I would freeze to death!
The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
Love that show,I watched every episode,I felt bad for them that they didn't hit it big,but as you say, they are going to try in the yukon this year,I would go in a heart beat!

Remember it's all up to Earl. He has the option of not leasing to them. I know Dakota Frank and Errol are thisclose so maybe he'll lease to Fred.
Even if they do mine in Canada the guy who owns the property still doesn't know if he wants to lease the land.
They got $20,000 worth of gold, they owe Earl $15,000 balance on the machine they bought, he gets 20% which is $4000 that's $19,000 to Earl that leaves $1000 left over out of the $275,000 they spent.
Earl wasn't happy with what they produced that's why he brought in Jack and look what happened.
I'd like to see what happens to all the machinery and the camp they just left behind.

These guys are workin so hard at trying to strike it rich so they don't have to work it is wearing me out!
I wouldn't do it for the world but more power to them and the women standing by them.

It would be a shame if he didn't let them mine in the "porcupine creek" mine, but as you say "Dakota Fred" wants to mine it with his own crew, and he is close to the owner! either way I hope they hit it big, they really busted their asses out there, and what is left to lose? just a note,my ancestors came over for the gold rush in California back in 1849-50,I don't know if any of them ever struck it rich, but just the thought of leaving your home to cross the ocean then travel by horse and wagon another 3000 miles across the country to an unknown future had to be something else! there's and old saying "Wooden ships, and iron Men"!

I watched it and think they need to have more reserve funds and a better sense of what they should be doing next time. Also, leave the families at home.
No, I wouldn't do it with this bunch. Perhaps on the Northwestern on Deadliest Catch. I could be pretty sure I would get some money but then I would have to worry about lung cancer.
I'm sure they got paid enough by Discovery to save the house and whatever I mean they walked away with only a grand woth of gold for the season.

I'm really into history especially when it has to do with money.
During the gold rush days all the miners would carry their gold dust in these small leather pouches.
When they walked into anyplace the prices would be not by dollars and cents but pinches.
Bars used to hire bartenders with big fingers so they could get as much for a drink as they could. They also wanted the bartenders to be a little "sloppy" when they took the pinches and some dust "accidently" fell on the floor they would sweep and keep all the leftovers.

The new season is starting up again soon all they're calling it is Gold Rush. Yhe way I'm thinking is Dakota Fred is going to stay and mine at Porcupine Creek Alaska.
When the group left because of the weather they never winterized it they just left it. Is Dakota Fred going to buy those if they're still useable or will they br spoils of war when he takes over and they move to Dawson?
Anyway I can't wait for the new season to start, that and Flying Wild Alaska.
