    From the TMZ report:

According to the lawsuit -- obtained by TMZ -- lawyers for 16-year-old Meadow Walker claim when the Porsche Carrera GT crashed and broke apart, Paul's seat belt "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis," and trapping him in the passenger seat. The suit claims the fire didn't erupt for 1 minute and 20 seconds after impact, but Paul was helplessly trapped. When the fire broke out, Paul was still alive. The suit alleges, "Paul Walker breathed soot into his trachea while the Porsche Carrera GT burned."
I thought the car erupted immediately. So, are we to believe he was aware and struggling to get out of the seat belt and for almost a minute and a half, knew his fate? I'd rather believe he didn't know what hit him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the seat belt was not an issue. Guessing it wouldn't make a difference. Do we even know if he was conscious after the impact? That car was f-ed up! I mean even if they seat belt did cause that damage to him couldn't that be from the excessive speed? I think it's a different issue if it malfunctions when you are driving at a normal speed but if you are speeding who knows what the seat belt will do.

Did they attribute the accident to a problem with the car or driver error?

I think they attributed the accident to excessive speed. I don't think he was conscience before he died. I'm not sure the company will want this to go to trial. I'm guessing they'll try to settle it soon out of court.

I have seen that image before. Apparently this is the poor guy in that picture after he was patched up.

Luckily it wasn't as bad as it seemed. Don't know his name or who he is but def' not Paul. From what I understand, Paul and his friend ended up a little on the well done side.

I think she deserved the money from the driver's estate (does he have that much in his estate?) but as for Porsche, no. I know she already lost round one and they are appealing but all of the blame for the accident belongs to the two men in the car when it crashed.

If he had soot in his lungs then yes he was alive, when someone is alive and trapped in a fire, and they are breathing and soot gets in their lungs and they perish afterwards, that how the M.E. determines if they were alive or not during the fire. (former Medical Examiner Assistant)

I really don't understand what the fuss is about. He was speeding in an over-powered car, with an idiot at the wheel. He gambled and lost. His death was horribly painful and too long. It was sad. Why should we have to pay for his stupidity? Why should Porsche pay at all?
