    Goldy McJohn, founding father of original Steppenwolf

    Died of heart attack August 1 at age 72. Confirmed on his facebook page:

    Still good music.
    I don't remember if Born To Be Wild or House of the Rising Sun was the first tune I learned to play on guitar.

    Magic Carpet Ride has aged quite well too.

    I have to be careful about playing Magic carpet Ride when I am driving. I get the lead foot bad. Real bad.
