I thought this was a very well put together piece of work. Michael didn't look any skinnier than he normally does, he didn't look or act sick, his voice was spot on. He had a fabulous voice! No wonder he protected it so much. This was a brilliant piece of work. Parts made me smile and parts made me tear up, like Human Nature, Earth Song, Billie Jean... (BTW, nobody can wear a Balmain jacket like Michael, nobody.) Prior to going to the theater, I was watching The View... one of them brought up the movie, so a discussion ensued. A comment was made about how was it possible Michael could perform and look like he did in the movie, then leave the stage and need to be pumped full of drugs. The response was something similar to the life of Judy Garland... the stage tends to mask the problems. There were about 20 people in the theater at noon on a Wednesday. All but 6 left after the credits started rolling. I guess we were the internet geeks who wanted to see the "easter egg." I went out and picked up the commemorative CD set after the movie. Sure hope this goes to DVD.

I loved the part where he got out of the big black widow.

I saw This is It tonight, he was amazing. Utterly amazing. Not at all the fragile shell the media portrayed. It made me happy to feel so close to his creative process, and extremely pissed off that he's dead due to the negligence of another.

I hope we do get the autopsy photo, I am very curious, though I might be a little freaked out.

Speaking of freaked out, WTF is up with that picture in middle of that story of the masked MJ fan with Lionel Richie. That is just creepy. ewwww, I might have nightmares.

He sounded amazing (Thriller and I think Beat It are an overlay, proabably bc he was trying to save his voice) but the songs he sang sounded really good, especially Human Nature. The only complaint I have is that they didn't show a few of my favorite songs (Another Part of Me, Bad, Dirty Diana, PYT and Dancing Machine) but it was packed with lots of his biggest songs. I think everyone would enjoy this movie if you liked the music. Watch it through the credits, there are a couple more minutes at the end.. Hope you like it!
Sigh...Dirty Diana is my FAVORITE of all time

Definitely going to see this...cant wait.

This is a fact I wish the people calling him a junkie would consider. He didn't do drugs to get high, he did them because (as I've heard him explain it) it was so hard to come off the stage with all that adrenaline and calm down to rest. He got to where he was barely sleeping, if at all and felt that was the only way for him to get the rest he needed to put on his "perfect" show again the next night. I can understand that completely.

Wonder what other rock stars do to wind down when they come off stage, obviously not rock stars like Keith Richards or Axl Rose, we know what they do. It's an interesting dilema. I walked away from the movie feeling like he probably met with a similar fate as Heath Ledger. I don't think Michael's death was intentional at all, just a sad and unfortunate set of circumstances. It wasn't exactly easy to watch the movie after everything. In fact, I've been kind of sad all day. Yet, for some reason, I really want to own the DVD. Must be the magic.

I saw it today and absolutely loved every minute of it. Very well done. He did not look sick to me either. To be honest I don't think he was sick at all. His doctor had to be on his phone and wasn't checking on him like he should have been the day he died. Wasn't that doctor being paid $150,000 a month? I hope he does some serious time. It cost Michael his life.

I too missed not hearing him sing some of my favorite songs he had done in the past. Still, it was well worth every penny. Love that lady guitar player. WOW The dancers are phenomenal! My advice....Go and ENJOY! You won't be sorry.

I guess this was a worldwide simultaneous release, because it came out here last night too. I quoted your post bettie because Lionel Richie made a surprise guest appearance for the Tokyo premiere.

What really stuck out for me was how kind he was to everyone. Even when he got aggravated about his ear piece he was like, "I'm saying this with L.O.V.E." haha I loved how excited his dancers were to watch him perform, too. The girl guitarist is amazing, huh? Her name is Orianthi Panagaris. (Her twitter: https://twitter.com/orianthi) I loved how MJ was telling her it was her moment to shine and whatnot. He was so sweet. <3

That's the thing I noticed most while watching this. Let me state for the record: i am not a die hard fan, I like the classics but was never really a follower of M.J. I was (like many of us) completely creep-ed out by his public persona once the child molestation charges were brought against him. In every interview he seemed completely bizarre and a bit off his rocker, I.M.O.. A friend of mine bought This is It tickets in advance and asked my husband and I to go, we had nothing planned and were not too thrilled but took him up on his offer.

Now after watching it my opinion has completely changed. We always knew he was a talented artist but watching him in his natural environment really uncovered a whole other side. He wasn't using the soft, childlike voice while taking to others and he was SO appreciative and kind to everyone. If he hadn't passed away would we have still seen the rehearsals and given the poor guy the benefit of the doubt? I don't think so. His death didn't affect me at all before seeing this and now my heart truly breaks for his family. A void was left and will never be filled.

I love you for saying this! This is the side of him I've been wishing the media would show and everyone would have known about for years. I've been a huge fan my entire life, since two. I've watched all the making of the videos, behind the scenes stuff.. all kinds of things that show this side of Michael but things that aren't shown to everyone. I've known his heart and how kind he was all along so to watch what he went through and know how it broke him was really difficult to see. I'm happy that everyone is able to see this about him now but it's really bittersweet because he isn't here to know it.

As much as I like Michael, I wouldn't mind seeing that autopsy pic, to see "the real Michael Jackson". That would be interesting.

I've always felt somehow that Michael was thoughtful, kind and very special besides extremely talented. Right now, it sounds crazy because I never knew him, but it would hurt to see "This Is It" and be reminded of the special person the world lost.

I know what you mean. I was very nervous about seeing the movie. I still get upset watching all the specials on tv, not because I'm obsessed but because I know how hard it must be for his family and the kids. He was just so special and, although I know it sounds crazy, the world feels different without his spirit and love for everything and everyone. There will never be anyone like him again. But yeah, I was nervous but I knew I would regret not seeing it in theaters and I'm glad I went. It was so good and it wasn't as sad as I thought. For a while I even forgot he was gone and it was like sitting at home watching my dvds or something. I feel like I have closure now. You really should see it.

Thanks, I will take your advice. The clips really look great as far as the film is concerned.

We played the "This is It" CD while handing out candy. It was tempting to push Repeat on Thriller, but... not for 3 hours straight.

The best comment of the night came from a young boy about 9 years old... he thanked me for the candy and then stood square in front of the open door and put his thumb way up in the air and exclaimed "ROCK ON Michael!!" I gave him a "whoo hooo oohh" like in "The Way You Make Me Feel." It was fun, but that mask was HOT! I think most people weren't sure what I was supposed to be... hard to look too much like MJ when you're 5'2" and overweight... LOL!!

LOL nice pics! Good to know you had a fun night.

We had a small group of Trick-or-Treaters that were dressed like MJ. I didn't see them myself but my mom did, and she said there was a black 12-14 year old kid who she swore looked EXACTLY like Thriller-era Michael. Had the fedora and everything. Kinda wish I could've seen that but oh well...

I actually saw This is It on friday, and I thought it was great. Not only was he a hell of an entertainer, he was a really nice guy to the people he worked with. I will say that there were times that I thought he might be on something *most of the times I thought that was when he was wearing sunglasses while inside or talking to someone.)

I was sad to see how frail he looked, especially in those baggy pajama pants.

My mom said that had MJ decided to just do this in Vegas for like, a year, he probably would have made sooooo much money that he could have repaid each debt twice over.

lol Did you guys see this article tmz posted? Saying Michael liked to pee in front of people. ooook.

I still love the man, even if any of the weird allegations about him are true. He was a musical genius.

Really? When was the last time he was on a stage? He did drugs to get high, just like every other drug addict in the world. IMO, MHO, blah blah blah

Well, that WOULD make sense as to how that one kid claimed he could describe his genitals. Then again it kinda sounds like one of those crazy out of this world stories like that one of the woman claiming that MJ had jars of noses.

I just came back from seeing "This Is It" and I must say he had a hell of a show planned for his fans. My gawd, he worked so hard in rehearsals. I enjoyed it and I hope more of you get to see it before it's pulled from the screens.

I went and saw This is It this past weekend. I was surprised, there were not 30 people at the showing.
I thought it was good and that Michael really was a kind person. He knew how he wanted things and when he asked for a change, he always said please, thank you, I love you, this is out of love. I was also touched at how he told his back up singer "this is your moment to shine, I'm just here to support you, its your time"
I personally would not call him a genious, but he was very very talented. For saving his voice for the concert, he still had it and he was dancing all around. Sure didn't look like a strung out junkie to me. He was thin, but he never was a stocky man to begin with.
The only time I though he looked downright bad was when he did the press conference announcing this concert. His face was drawn then.
I am reading they are extending the showing until Thanksgiving now.

I respect your opinion and don't want to change it, but just wanted to get this out there: the musical gift he had was very rare. He made songs inside his head, then was able to portray the sounds of the instruments with his voice enough so that they could be made into real songs. Exactly as he imagined them to sound. That is genius, the average person cannot do that. He's also a genius in the fact that he had the goal of making the number one record, then actually achieved that goal with Thriller. He's not the only one to have done it, but look at all the artists who try it and fail.

I would love to have the musical genius that he had. I WISH I was even a fraction as musical as he was, but I'm not. I respect his musical brain! He was a weirdo of a person sometimes, but that doesn't personally matter to me since I view musical talent as one of the greatest gifts a person can have.

After dominating record sales for four months, Michael Jackson is finally at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. “Michael Jackson’s This Is It,” the companion album to the new movie — Epic, the label, is being careful not to call it a soundtrack, since it is mostly made up of old hits — sold 373,100 copies in the United States last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Although Jackson has sold more than 5.6 million albums since his death in June, most of those titles have been too old to count on the Billboard 200, the standard album chart. But “This Is It” is a new title, and it becomes Jackson’s sixth No. 1; the film was the top box office draw last week, taking in $32.5 million in its first five days in the United States.

aawww.... WAY TO GO MJ!!!

Can't wait until the DVD comes out. I could watch it 1,000 times. I was never a huge fan, but always loved his hits. Sorry it took this situation to realize how gifted he was. I've been a music lover for as long as I could walk. Not that I've examined every musician's talent ever listened to, but I've heard plenty of demos and rough cuts over the years... MJ is a definite stand out. He had a gift, there's not doubt.

Just had to share this with you all...

http://sky1.sky.com/derek-acorah-to-...ichael-jackson

This TV Extravaganza (!) was shown last night on Sky 1 in the UK (anyone over here who missed it - it's being repeated tonight on Sky 2)

...bearing in mind this is the same channel who show Lost, House, The Simpsons, Modern Family, Bones and tons of really amazing shows....and they stoop to this!!! For anyone that has never heard of Derek Acorah, he is an over excitable Scouser who claims to be a medium. Claims being the operative word...he once saw the spirits of Washing Machine's and is famous for becoming possessed and yelling 'Mary Loves Dick!' ...lucky Mary!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uD0d...eature=related

Mary Loves Dick...Mary Loves Dick....priceless!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeQ0a3WfZ7g

That's the BBC carrying out a sting on Derek!

So basically he is a geinus because he can hum a melody and a real musician can interpret that into what her hears and play the song for him? If he was a musical genius he should be able to pick up the instrument and play it. Quincey Jones is more responsible for MJ's sound than MJ is. People comparing him to Mozart is a joke, Mozart was composing entire symphonies and Opera's befor he was 10. Beethoven was deaf and wrote entire symphonies by hand. That is a genius. Co-Writing 3 minute pop songs is not. Is Madonna a genius as well?

I don't know what the official definition of musical genius is or if there is one but from the standpoint of this girl who has been listening to music as her favorite passtime her whole life (and enjoying the music her wonderful family provides in the family band), what I saw in that movie This Is It is someone with an extraordinary musical ear. I have also heard that said of Michael Jackson over the years from different people that have collaborated with him. I can't say I have heard that about many others. Lots of talented people out there....I have always enjoyed Madonna's music...there is a girl who seems to know how to pick a good song, that is for sure, she works very hard, etc., but musical genius has never been a term I have heard said about her. Not saying it isn't possible but all I have to go by is this country-bumpkins enjoyment of the arts and entertainment.

I thought it was already revealed that Derek was a phony, and that the people behind "Most Haunted" had to come out and say that his antics were for 'entertainment value only'?
