Kelt, quality as always!

I lived in Spring Lake, NJ for awhile when I was small, and have been trying to find old pics, specifically of the pavillion and swimming pools located right on the beach. Have you come across any?

thanks,

kitty

I have always heard about this place but have never been there. Thanks for all the info Kelt. That last picture makes it look like the Garden Pier is in bad shape. I love all the old pics and postcards though.

Love her. We spoke to her recently on a local radio show...very nice lady. Completely down to earth.

Someone mentioned Adam Ant in another thread and I had to rush to google to see how he's holding up. Not too shabby! I wish he'd take the dew rag off so we could see the hair (or lack of).

In this era I always thought she was attractive in a boozey, ruined sort of way.

Go figure. She looks halfway decent. Way too much lousy surgery though.

Holy recreation, Batman! I never would have recognized her. What a shame. I always found her tasty before in an "I need rehab" kinda way.

Adam Ant is almost totally bald now so I beleive he just shaved it all off. But he has beautiful skin for 50 years old. He also suffers from Manic Depression which is such a shame since that is what caused his downfall. There is a good documentary on him which someone posted on youtube called "The Madness of Prince Charming" if you would like to see it let me know I believe I have it favorited.

Peter Burns is downright scary! Is it me or does he look like he's wearing a wig in the scary pic?

Courtney Love looked better before. I don't see where she had plastic surgery but she has way too much make-up on and her nose is crooked!

Is that why he's sportin the dew rag? I can't believe he lost his hair. Back in the mid nineties I remember his video for Wonderful and his hair was looking quite lush! I would love to see the documentary.

About Adam Ant, I noticed in later pics of him he had a receding hairline in front which he tried to hide with his long locks. But I don't know exactly when he chose to shave it. Here is a link to the 1st of 8 parts of the documentary. You should see the other parts over to the right in the related video section, but if you have trouble finding the rest let me know and I can PM you the rest.

Lt. Richard Todd, assistant adjutant of the British 7th Light Infantry Parachute Batallion ca 1943. Todd and the 7th parachuted into Normandy on D-Day to rendezvous with Maj. John Howard's company of the 2nd Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (the Ox and Bucks) at a bridge known as Pegasus Bridge.

After the war Todd returned to his pre-war vocation of acting (he had acted mainly in regional theatre before the war but had also founded the Dundee Repertory Theatre). In 1949 he was nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for his role in the movie The Hasty Heart which co-starred, among others, Ronald Reagan and Patricia Neal (pictured).

In 1961 Todd was one of the cast members of the all-star extravaganza, The Longest Day. In the movie he played...wait for it...Major John Howard of the 2nd Ox and Bucks. Rumor has it that he was originally asked to play himself but turned down the role, jokingly stating he did not want to play a part that small.

Oldest living member of the Pro Football Hall-of-Fame is Clarence "Ace" Parker who played from 1937-1941 (Brooklyn Dodgers and then again in 1945 for the Boston Yanks and 1946 for the New York Yankees of the All-American Football Conference)
He also played two years of major league baseball in the mid 30s with the Philadelphia Athletics. This picture is from around 1938 when he was 26 year-old. Parker (#7) is seen in action during a 1940 game in which the Dodgers upset the Bears.

This photo is from the 2008 induction ceremony into the Hampton Roads Sports Hall-of-Fame. Mr Parker is the gentleman third from left, wearing his yellow pro football Hall-of-Fame blazer. Parker turned 97 this past May

Wow I haven't seen Don Meredith in ages. Isn't he the one that at the end of a game would start singing "when the party's over"?
